Details: This is an absolutely spectacular ring featuring a pale yellow faceted chrysoberyl framed by a halo of rose cut diamonds set in silver- enhancing their old world glow.
This beautiful ring has age appropriate wear, but is in very good antique condition. Georgian jewelry was designed to reflect candlelight and the setting contains foil behind the stones that can rust with prolonged submersion in water. As with any piece this old you want to be careful not to wear it too hard and to take it off for heavy labor.
Measurements: The ring size is 4.5. The face of the ring is just under 20mm tall and 16mm wide.
Origins: English, c. 1820. The shank was later added possibly in the 1890’s.
Condition and Care: Georgian era jewelry featured stones that were hand-cut and more primitively set. No two stones are the same in cut, color or clarity and this ring has a rustic beauty and uneven brilliance that we adore. The Georgian pieces are very rare and covetable and this ring is a true treasure. In order to preserve the original condition of the piece of jewelry, stones have not been removed from their setting. All diamonds, gemstones weight, color, grade and clarity, unless stipulated otherwise, have been made using measurement formulas and comparison.
